Many people travel into London by train. There are 4 main stations in London that take in people from different parts of the country; for example, Kings Cross station has trains coming in from the north; from cities such as Leeds and Doncaster. Liverpool Street station is one of the 4 main stations and takes in trains that are predominately coming from the east; from places such as Cambridge and East Anglia. Whilst this may seem like a small catchment area there are numerous people that travel in this way every year for a short break in London. For these people, there is little sense in driving into the city; paying the congestion charge every time gets tiresome and it is a lot of petrol that you use up when you are travelling to and from the city; very costly due to the ever rising prices.
That’s not to say that driving isn’t an option; quite the opposite in fact! It is a very good idea to hire a car once you arrive at Liverpool Street station as it makes life so much easier in terms of allowing yourself to see the city. There are many car hire companies near to the station and the service is always quick and easy but, above all, cheap. Many of the companies also have offers that allow you to shift some of the cost; for example, you could have the burden of petrol being removed from your shoulders as the company pays for your petrol costs.

I can guarantee that no matter where in the world you travel, if you were to ask them about John Lennon airport then they will launch into a description of the iconic Liverpudlian. It’s almost as if, as soon as they hear the name ‘John Lennon’, any words coming after that point pale into insignificance and they decide to give you a detailed biography of the Beatle. At this point, it is best to sit back and listen to the people rambling on about the origins of his music, the Beatles, Yoko and finally his shooting. Wait until the end before telling them that you weren’t at all interested in that and wanted to know about the airport!
In all seriousness, not many people know of the Liverpool airport’s full name so this mistake is merely a means by which they can wrack their memories to find any sort of reference to the airport. Of course, when you mention Liverpool airport certain things spring to mind; not least the fantastic car hire service that is on offer. Liverpool is a city where a car is essential, so it is no bad thing that the airport car hire company is on hand to help you every step of the way. You can choose practically any car you want for a very competitive rate and be able to pick up the keys in no time. This leaves you plenty of time to travel around the city; perhaps even visit the Beatles museum?

Once you have got yourself into the city centre you may think that you are completely fine. Perhaps you decided not to hire a car at the airport because of the cost, or you had a specific time to get to your hotel so didn’t have time to wait for the hire car, or perhaps it just hadn’t crossed your mind to hire a car when you arrive at Liverpool airport – automatically deciding to use the public transport system that is more than adequate to get you from the airport to Liverpool city centre. Of course, it is not essential that you hire a car – it is not out of the realm of possibility that you will be able to navigate yourself around Liverpool without the use of a car – using buses or trains or good, old fashioned, walking. This seems the best option but only on the outset.
If it rains, for example, the last thing you want to be doing is stood outside, but without a car you have no other option. Similarly, after a few days of continuous walking you are not going to want to do any more because you will be too tired and your body will be making you pay. You can still hire a car once in Liverpool city centre and, without a doubt, this must be done. You will be able to get much more out of your holiday if you are able to drive to the attractions instead of having to walk and your holiday will benefit from it. You don’t have to use the car, but at least the option is there.

Liverpool Lime Street is one of the most popular stations in the north of England. As one of the most visited cities in Britain, Liverpool plays host to thousands of tourists every day and a large majority of these people travel into Liverpool Lime Street station – whether from another city or from the airport (which is slightly out of the main city so you are unable to walk the distance). The only issue that they have is that when they arrive in Liverpool they have no form of transport. Whilst it is very easy to walk around Liverpool and is certainly achievable, you end up spending most of your time in the city travelling and not sightseeing – not what you want to be doing when you are trying to see Liverpool where there is so much to do. The other problem with not having any transport is that you are restricting yourself to Liverpool. Whilst this is no slur on Liverpool itself, it is possible that you may want to visit the suburbs, perhaps for a walk or to visit one of the National Trust sights, which you can only do if you are in possession of a vehicle.
It is, therefore, essential that you hire a car when you arrive at Liverpool Lime Street station. If you have a car you can do whatever you want, whenever you want which is an obvious benefit if you decide that you want a change of scenery at some point of your holiday.

Liverpool is one of the most popular cities in Britain, and well deserved! Having been proclaimed the European capital of culture in 2008, the city was able to benefit for a wide reaching renovation project that it was long in need of. This has transformed the city from being one of relative poverty into a vibrant expression of the arts and the British culture that so many take pride in. Visitors travel from far and wide to see the main sights, ranging from the Liver Building to the Institute for Performing Arts where a wide array of cultural heritage can be sampled.
Many of these tourists are travelling from a foreign country which means that they do not have transport available to them in Britain. They therefore have the choice – either use public transport or hire a car. Even the most faithful of British citizens will admit that the public transport system is not really up to the standards set by our fellow Europeans so this is inadvisable. Hiring a car is by far the better option. Even ignoring the obvious convenience benefits, the cost is such that you won’t have to break the bank to hire one. The service is very quick and easy and the staff are always willing to help you find a car that is best suited to you – with models ranging from convertibles to people carriers. Don’t be caught out in Liverpool, make sure you hire a car or you will find yourself not getting the most out of your visit.

Hiring a car from Liverpool airport in the UK could not be easier. It is wise to book online in advance as this will not only save time, it could also save you money as well. It will mean that you should be able to go straight to the depot when you have landed and collected your luggage, sign a few bits of paper and drive away. It could be even quicker than waiting for a taxi and certainly better and faster than queuing for other public transport.
By booking in advance you can not only save money and time, but guarantee that you get the car of your choice as well. It is a really good idea to make sure that you think about your requirements and look in to the options. It would be annoying if you found that the car you ordered did not have room for your luggage or that it was not suitable for the road conditions that you will be driving on. Most cars available should be fine but it is wise just to think and check first. Think about the space you will need for luggage and passengers, whether you will need air conditioning, whether an off the road vehicle might be more suitable and everything else. Also consider the insurance you need, although the hire car company should sort that out for you. A little bit of thought beforehand could really pay off in the future and help to make your whole trip more enjoyable.

Liverpool is a fantastic place to visit and this is reflected in the volume of people who are visiting every year. The added tourism due to the city becoming the Capital of Culture has merely served to swell the numbers that pass through the terminals at Liverpool Airport each year. With so many people arriving, the transport services around the airport are stretched to their limit. Because of this, you will find it very difficult to find an available taxi and could end up stranded in the airport (which isn’t within walking distance to the many hotels in the city centre) having to try and work out what the bus timetable is and whether you can afford to use public transport and taxi services every time you decide you want to go anywhere.
But why would anyone make it doubly difficult for themselves. By far, the easiest option is to hire a car from the airport. The service is always top notch and very quick – particularly if you decide to take advantage of the online booking service that you can use to book a car weeks in advance and drastically reduce the amount of time that you are waiting for the keys – you can be in and out in a flash. Then, not only do you have the security of being able to get to the hotel as soon as possible after arriving at the airport, you can also relax knowing that there is nowhere out of reach should you decide to go there.

Liverpool is a fantastic place to visit, it really is. I feel that it quite rightly earned the title the ‘Capital of Culture’ in 2008. There is so much that you can do, museums that you can explore and learn about everything from art to the Beatles, shops to go and buy your souvenirs from and a superb waterfront that encapsulates everything that is beautiful about the city. Then of course there are the other sights that you have to see just so that you can say you’ve seen it; the Liver Building, for example, with its liver birds standing proud is an essential see. You can even take a ferry across the Mersey (singing the song is, of course, compulsory).
The only problem is that, like most cities, Liverpool isn’t exactly a small place and the things you want to see are not necessarily within an easily walkable distance. Can you imagine arriving at Liverpool airport – itself a good few miles outside of the city – after a flight and having to walk everywhere or rely on public transport? One of those options tires you out, the other wears your wallet thin! The best thing that you can do is hire a car. You can then get into Liverpool quickly and see much more in your time there than you would otherwise. It’s much more convenient and you aren’t constantly looking at your watch so you can fully enjoy all the things to do. And you can retire to your hotel in the evening safe in the knowledge that even if you oversleep a bit, you can jump in the car and drive into the city. Perfect!

Liverpool is a grand city, well known for it’s amazing shopping facilities as well as stunning architecture and fine dining experiences. In fact there is so much to see and do in Liverpool you will be hard pressed to fit it all in one trip. If you are strapped for time it is advisable to rent a hire car and this will give you more freedom and flexibility to travel about in your own time.
This article looks at Liverpool’s most popular galley – The Tate. Perhaps not as popular as it’s London counterpart, but not in the least less awe inspiring, the Liverpool Tate houses international modern and contemporary art from some of the worlds leading artists. Special exhibitions are commonly put on, and if you would like to check what is currently showing then take a visit to their website which will be able to tell you what is happening and when.
The gallery is open between September and May, and the great thing is it is completely free of charge to view the permanent galleries – although some special exhibitions may require a small entrance fee.
The gallery also has a cafeteria where you can relax and enjoy a bite to eat after a long day viewing all the wonderful artwork and sculptures.
Ample parking is available on site, if you still need to book your hire car then fill out a few details above and you could get a quote within seconds. You can also arrange to collect your car from several areas around town making it more convenient for you.

If you are looking to stay in Liverpool then it worth doing some research before you do. There are a lot of hotels in the city and some further out and it is a good idea to get an idea of what you want and then book something up before you go.
Like any city, Liverpool is very busy and the accommodation tends to book up very quickly, especially the good places. It is probably a good idea to organise a hire car so that you can go further out of the city as you will get more choice of accommodation then and you are more likely to get a better price or better value for money at least.
There are many different types of accommodation, depending on what you want from your stay. There are places suited to families, business needs, groups of friends or single travellers and there are also a range of quality of hotel reflecting a range of prices. It could be very daunting if you arrive with no idea where you want to stay, it is better to do some research first and then know exactly what to expect when you arrive.
The Internet makes it easy to see what is available. Set some time aside to have a really good search, bookmark the places that you like and then see whether they have any rooms when you need them. If you do this far enough in advance of your trip, you should be able to get what you are looking for.
